The original painting at far left, American Robin-The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, and the cover for Bird Watcher's DigestVol. 30 No. 3, Jan Feb 2008. The painting differs from the cover in minute detail by the application of final glazing touches. The original had to be shipped for reproduction before the dry-down proccess of oil paint can be observed. Highlights will fade a little in drying and may need another dash.

The scene at left is a creation from field notes and reference material from MacDonald Forest, west of Salem Oregon. I didn't get to see this bird perched. It was more like a rocket blasting past. Forest Sentinal-Merlin, original oil, $5000.oo

Far left, original painting, oil on linen, The Old Homestead, fro Bird Watcher's Digest Vol. 23 No. 3 Feb 2001 and the cover. This painting is a hybrid of reference and imagination. The busted tree in the foreground that the red-belly is on, is from the Ramble in CentralPark.
