The original painting at far left, American Robin-The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, and the cover for Bird Watcher's DigestVol. 30 No. 3, Jan Feb 2008. The painting differs from the cover in minute detail by the application of final
glazing touches. The original had to be shipped for reproduction before the dry-down proccess of oil paint can be observed. Highlights will fade a little in drying and may need another dash.

From the Field Guide, All the Birds of North America, Harper Collins 1997. Several artists worked on the book. My sections were the alcids, and arctic birds. Far left plate 10, oil on canvas, 10" X 17". Private collection. Contact the artist for price and availabilty of his other platesfrom the guide. Plate image and book page remain copyright of the publisher.

Far left, painting for ABNA Harper Collins 1997, plate 165 Arctic Waterbirds.
And the plate in the field guide.

The scene at left is a creation from field notes and reference material from MacDonald Forest, west of Salem Oregon. I didn't get to see this bird perched. It was more like a rocket blasting past.   Forest Sentinal-Merlin, original oil, $5000.oo

Far left, original painting, oil on linen, The Old Homestead, fro Bird Watcher's Digest Vol. 23 No. 3 Feb 2001 and the cover.  This painting is a hybrid of reference and imagination. The busted tree in the foreground that the red-belly is on, is from the Ramble in CentralPark.
